In the New Testament there are two fascinating statements we learn about Jesus and His Church. First, the religious leaders in Jesus’ day observed: “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.” (John 12:19 ESV) Secondly, in the aftermath of the resurrection and Pentecost, as the Holy Spirit filled believers began proclaiming the Gospel around the known world, the people said this: “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also” (Acts 17:6 ESV). Did you catch it? The whole world is going after Him and the hope of the Gospel turned the world upside down.
Starting today, Sunday, September 13th, we are going to begin a multi-year, expository study through the Book of Acts. You are invited to join us as we begin this exciting look at the history of the early Church and what it means to us today.
